Texins Archery Club, one of the oldest and most active archery clubs in Texas, has relocated to Elm Fork Shooting Sports, 10751 Luna Road, Dallas. Club president Bob Barnette said TAC is hosting a range opening May 15 when the public is invited to shoot 9 a.m.-6 p.m.
Barnette said loaner equipment will be available. Nonmembers can shoot for $10 per person, $20 per family. After the May 15 opening, Barnette said, public shooting hours will be 9 a.m.-noon Saturdays.
TAC was organized by Texas Instruments in the 1960s as a benefit for employees and affiliates. For nearly 50 years, the club's eight-acre range was on TI property. Earlier this year, TI decided to terminate the TAC lease, but the club worked out an agreement with Elm Fork Shooting Sports.
With the addition of TAC's archery range, Elm Fork is one of America's most complete urban shooting facilities. The 467-acre property accommodates shotguns, rifles, handguns and, now, archery.
